Found: Vietnam Veteran Marines Ring

I found this gold Vietnam Veteran's marine ring with my metal detector and just now had time to post it up on the web. It's really pretty. I'm not sure what size it is, but it doesn't fit on my finger. Oh well! It features the US Marines logo on the top front side of a red stone, and an homage to Iwo Jima and Tun Tavern on either side. Great find!

Antique Bottle Found Metal Detecting

I was out metal detecting in a small woods and came across this antique bottle. It was out and mixed in with many other antique items but they were a bit too heavy for me to carry back. Anyone know what kind of bottle this is?

What kind of information do I need in order to get an appraisal?

Diamond Silver Ring Find

So I went out using my Ace 250 metal detector today at a local park looking for some cool stuff in the ground. My day started out kind of slow, with only finding a common clad coin here and there among all of the metal bottle caps that lodged themselves in the dirt. There's a baseball field nearby, so it's likely that these are just from spectators to little league baseball games.

1798 Draped Bust Cent with Garrett Ace 250 Metal Detector!

Awesome metal detecting find!

Click for larger image.

Finding and digging a very collectible and old coin is  a great way to start the 2011 season! I have been looking to upgrade my Garrett Ace 250 metal detector into a Minelab detector from KellyCo or New England Detectors, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. The possibility of finding more cool old stuff makes me want a better detector even more!

Not gold or silver, but so far my best metal detecting coin find!
